TELE TRIAGE SUPPORT FOR PETS IN FLOOD AFFECTED AREAS

With floods ravaging the East Coast of Australia there are huge barriers for pet and animal carers to access vital care.

VetChat, Australia’s leading telehealth service for pets will be providing those in flood affected areas with access to Australian registered Veterinarians via video, message or  phone,  for the nominal fee of $5.

Proceeds collected from the nominal $5 fee charged by VetChat will be donated to the Australian Red Cross flood appeal.

VetChat CEO Dr Claire Jenkins said,

“We know that due to extreme flooding many carers cannot physically get their pet to a Vet, and many local clinics have been forced to close their doors. This is a heartbreaking time for many and we are here to help”

“Our primary concern is the welfare of pets and we will be donating the nominal $5 fee to help those impacted by the floods.”

“If you can’t access your Vet and you are worried about the health of your pet, you can go to our website or give us a call –  our team of trusted Australian registered Vets, are on standby to provide advice and triage.”

VetChat is providing:

  • tele-triage 24/7 via com.au or 1300 188576 for pet carers who cannot easily access their Vet due to the floods.
  • To access Vetchat.com.au use the coupon code floodsupport which will reduce the cost to the nominal $5 fee. (The usual cost of a consultation is $40)

“Pet carers can describe or show their pet’s issue, and learn what needs to be done. Whether it’s managed fully at home, until their Vet opens; or right away local referral is needed.“

“Our hearts go out to the people and animals of New South Wales and Queensland during this traumatic time. We’re here to provide our expert support 24/7”.  Dr Jenkins said.
